On the Rooftop of the Karakura Hospital (HOLLOW ATTACK)

[ENCOUNTER]
Karakura Hospital roof, Sunday [02 P.M.]


The sweat was dripping of him as he walked on the roof. Tanaka didn't know weather he was awake or dreaming. The last thing he remembered was the feeling of the cold steel operating table against his back, and cutting pain that seemed to be everywhere. No friendly face in a room full of doctors, no wife, no daughter,...nothing.

"W-Why!" he yelled out in the night sky. "I-i don't underssstand, what happened, I-i do....uuggghhhh".
... a sudden pain,
... blurred vision of a rotting chain,
... The smell of decaying flesh,

He suddenly realized that it where not tears that ran from his eyes, but a white fluid.
It gushed all over his face and hardened. His mind was beginning to flow away like a wave in the ocean.

a cry...
... slience,
then,..
..hunger.

The grizzly hollow struck a high shriek into the night as it looked down the hospital roof.
Lean and swift it was ready to dive down.

"Oh, for the love of...that's TWICE this week." Lisa stood up from her perch atop the roof of a small two-story building about a half-block down the road from the Hospital. There was no mistaking that scream, nor the distinctive spiritual pressure - a Hollow.
She closed the book, muttering a curse under her breath. Slipping the book into the bag she wore at her side, she set the back down out of sight in a corner where she could retrieve it later.
Then she drew from its scabbard her zanpakuto, and an instant later, she was gone.

The half-block to the Hospital was covered in less than a quarter of a second. The Hollow was about seven feet tall, greenish, with a big mouth and long, sharp teeth, many of them crooked.
"You're an ugly sonuva*****, aren't you?" She asked rhetorically, not expecting an intelligible answer. Then she lunged, using shunpo to approach the target, and swung, the blade coming down vertically aimed at the Hollow's face.

Feeling a rather awkward spiritual pressure, the hollow stopped as he was diving down the building.
His stretched arms supported his body again, and as he pulled them back underneath his torso he launched his claws deep into in the buildings concrete.

Instinctively it felt that something was attacking him, and as his eyes gazed the flash coming from the front, he made a cat like leap further down, to his left. For a few moments it looked towards the newly approached enemy. But it didn't take long before it got himself into action again.

With a furious enraged growl it leaped sideways, and made a high jump towards his enemy.
As it's jaws retracted, a long row of white sharp teeth where exposed, ready to bite of the attackers head of.

Biting back a curse as the Hollow dodged, Lisa turned to face her antagonist.
"And stubborn. too. A bit more powerful than the last weakling."
She braced herself for the counterattack as the Hollow growled, then lunged. She ducked underneath him, then as he passed overhead slashed viciously at his underbelly.

As the blade slashed the hollows underbelly, it released a high primal scream throughout the night.

It's body suddenly became heavy, and lost it's ballance.
The hollow's heavy body fell towards a crowd of people, down at the entrance of the hospital.

Like a meteorite crash, the creature posed a whole different threat to the people in Karaukura town.

"Shit!" Lisa saw the Hollow fall over the edge. "Gust fiercely, Shippūryūō!"
As her sword, glowing golden, expanded into a spear, she used shunpo to position herself fifteen meters off the ground.

She glanced down at the crowd as it slowly moved in towards the door. Too slow.
Her blade began to glow, crackling with gathered electrical energy. The Hollow was still seven meters up and falling rapidly when she fired.
"Rairyūhō!" All the pent-up energy shot out in a lightning bolt that streaked upwards directly towards the Hollow's face at 60,000 meters/second.

Like a melon that was smashed with a baseball bat, the hollows head instantly exploded. Dark blood gushed from it's neck and it's belly wound.

But unlike so many other hollows before him the corps didn't disintegrate into the night. Instead the blood seemed to bubble, as if suddenly somebody had set it's insides on fire.

From the hollow's falling corps emerged a huge black arm, with a gigantic claw attached to it. It stretched out towards Lisa Yadōmaru , and from the dark neck wound two emerald green eyes gazed at the vizard.

"What the..."
The Hollow was too close to dodge completely, and as Lisa attempted to do so the clawed arm that'd sprouted from where its head used to be snapped shut around her arm, tearing into the skin and almost breaking the bone.

So be it. Lisa stole a glance downwards as both fell, and saw with relief that the crowd that'd been congregated beneath them had dissipated. She then closed her eyes for an instant.
When her eyes snapped open, their normal blue had been replaced by a lifeless gold, and the whites of her eyes turned to black as a white mask began to form, gradually covering her face.

Then, a red glow began to emanate from inside the claw that held her arm. When she spoke, there was a strange echo in her voice.
"Cero." A blast of concentrated energy discharged abruptly from her hand.
"Denkōken." The blade of the zanpakutō in her other hand crackled with gathered electrical energy, and she aimed a slash at the torso of the creature she was fighting, a sudden wind accelerating the blade as it swung.

The claw released Lisa almost instantly as the creature inside the hollows corpse felt the new spiritual pressure.
When the blade hit the remains of the hollow's torso, the rest of the body also fell apart .
Huge balls of black blood hit the ground, and made little puddles on the ground.

But the impact was so minimal that nobody around noticed. The visitors and patients of the hospital simply moved alongside the black puddles, as if it never had existed.

The corpse of the hollow seemed to fall into ashes and vaporized into thin air. The large puddles of black blood seemed to gather together into a huge tar like pool. A dark figure seemed to grow from the black pool. The liquid was shooting up, and eased into a human like silhouette, which hardened instantly.

After the whole process was finished the dark pool was gone.
Instead of the pool a massive black Golem with yellow eyes stood in front of Lisa. The creature was good 2 and a half feet tall and it's skin looked like solid stone.

It looked down on the little wizard and released a high whimsical shriek from it's mouth.

"***. When is this thing gonna DIE already?!!" Lisa muttered as she landed on the ground a few meters away from the Golem.
Using Denkōarashi here was out of the question - too noticeable, too risky. Her Hollow transformation meant that she was faster, and could attack from long-range. An advantage she would have to use.
Spiritual energy gathered around her hand, and she swung as if to punch it, discharging the bala straight at the Hollow's eyes.
The follow-up was instant - using shunpo, she moved to behind the Hollow. The wind grew in strength as she swung her lightning-charged blade vertically, the attack intending to split the thing's back open.

"Keh_eheh". the creature released a weird sound, as it opened it's jaws.
Inside the creature's mouth the darkness suddenly began to fade away.

The impossible was happening, since the creature was splitting his head into two parts.
It didn't move an inch when the bala flew towards his head.

In fact it had calculated the next move of the Vizard, and right now the spiritual energy was flying towards Lisa who had set herself up behind the creature ready to strike him with her spear.
Now she had to doge her own attack.

As she moved to attack from behind, Lisa swore as she saw the whatever-the-hell-it-was's head literally split in two.
What was coming next was obvious.
Too close to dodge. The attack slammed into her face, sending her reeling and cracking her mask.

"Nice..." She muttered as she raised a hand to her face. A two-inch fragment of her mask had broken away, exposing part of her face. She stood her ground, energy-charged blade raised, and did not attack, instead waiting for the thing to make the next move.

The next move, however, didn't come from the creature.

Sado Yasutora, High School Student and sometime Hollow-exterminator, had responded to the spiritual pressure also (and an alarm from the Shinigami-made celphone that he had managed to wheedle out of Uruhara). Finding the Hollow already engaged in battle, he had waited for an opening.

When Lisa had paused to wait for the Hollow to take the next move, "Chad" had seized the initiative. One armoured fist flicked out towards the left half of the thing's split head, a blow that could powder stone flashing out at speeds that were reasonably impressive even in the eyeblink battles of the spirit world. If it connected, the Hollow would probably be lifted off its feet and land in a sprawling heap a good six feet away.

Focused on the masked schoolgirl, the persistent beast wasn't flinching, despite the severe amount of damage it had been dealt. Slowly it’s separated cranium began to twitch, the halves began to come closer at the base of its chin, fizzing and latching together again, like pieces of metal being welded. It was usual nature of hollows to retreat when they were at risk, even the most mulish of these rejected souls feared destruction. But the eerie new creature appeared to be incredibly resolute, or unaffected by a sense of self preservation.

It’s glowing spheres still hung on different halves of its reconstructing face. Gurgling interrupted vocalizations it tensed it’s dark body preparing to assault again but having been weakened by the woman‘s previous attacks, its senses didn’t pick up an additional reiatsu that had wandered into the confrontation. A speeding blur shot up straight at the unsuspecting ghoul, releasing a blow that came flying with the force of a missle. Realizing the danger the monster tried to dash out of the impending strike, but it was a split second too late. It was sent tumbling, creasing the ground beneath it. A good part of its arm and upper torso twisted into a mangled mess, shrieking wildly it writhed, the top left half of its head now entirely missing.

Spilling murky liquid on the concrete, it lifted its gaze from its remaining solitary eye to stare at the newly arrived prey. Clumsily regaining its footing, the monster curled its back like an infuriated animal, part of its body changing color and acquiring a hot orange tinge. It snapped back with energy concentrated at the tip of its claws and slashed the air, releasing a fiery projectile that raged towards the large man.

Immediately using the opportunity, it shifted its attention the woman with the braided hair, it leapt high above her, leaving behind a trail of billowing smoke that concealed it’s exact distance, when it re-emerged from the cloud, it dove swinging its right arm down, intending to pierce her head with searing talons.

As the newcomer attacked the monster, the electrical glow of Shippūryūō's blade began to intensify rapidly. The creature attacked him, then directed its attention back towards her.
The badly-damaged monster lunged towards Lisa, the arm and its claws aiming, quite evidently, to take off her head.
She bent her right knee, crouching down and forward, so that the arm passed overhead, and in that same instant drove the twelve-inch-long, energy-charged blade forward into the creature's gut, as she uttered one word.
"Rairyūhō."
For the second time, the tremendous energy concentrated in the blade discharged instantly in a massive lightning bolt.
The instant the attack discharged, she withdrew the blade and used shunpo to move away from the monster.

Chad caught the fireball with an almost casual swipe of the heavy red-and-black bracer that formed the thickest part of the armour on his right arm, a fiery detonation that rocked him back a half-step before he slammed his right arm forward again.

A thick blue-white lance of energy roared out towards the Hollow, sparking from Chad's fist to raven towards the half-shredded monster. If this wasn't enough, Chad would close again to try once more to beat the malevolent spirit to undeath with his bare hands.

... well, armoured hands.

The evil spirit reacted predictably as a savage creature would. When the crackling weapon came to its vulnerable stomach it clutched it in its grasp as a primal form of defense, the blinding glow followed by an immense electrical discharge obliterated its arm to cinders and continued to pierce through the wailing abomination. It lurched , desperately pacing back, it’s body was falling apart like a rotted corpse, regeneration was impossible, any off chance of even a particle of the beast surviving was promptly erased by a second canon of pure energy that bellowed out from behind it, sending it rolling into a crumpled mound a several feet away.

"FINALLY!" Lisa cried exasperatedly as, with a final attack from the newcomer, the whatever-it-was crumbled into dust and vanished.
The long spear she held shrank back into a long sword, which she promptly sheathed, using shunpo to retrieve her bag, then return to the ground.

A hand reached up to her face and she grasped the mask that partially covered her face, then tightened her grip, shattering it into dust. Her eyes faded back to blue, and looked over at the other.

"Thanks...sorry, what was your name?"

Sado glanced around at the girl, straightening as he did so.

After a moment, he grunted slightly and answered "Sado." The big youth glanced around; there was something in the air still that was making him uneasy. While he'd refined his abilities to sense reiatsu since he had begun this crazy half-life, half-reaper existence, he was still far from an expert. Even so, something was impinging on even his senses.

A set of scrutinizing eyes peered from the scaffold of an adjacent building, observing the outcome of the battle. It had been an intentional lure directed at the woman, who’s high density of spiritual energy revealed she was neither mortal nor an earthbound soul. But the arrival of a human with such capacities was entirely unexpected. Possibly individuals such as these would pose inconveniences, it was wise to take note of all factors, before actions continued further. Not that such inferior beings could impede their plans.

The figure shifted, to analyze the scene; heaving readily at his side, reeking of sulfur, stood a pair of the blackened wraiths. Upon a simple flick of the hand, both beasts leapt from their perch, descending down walls and beams, moving in opposite directions to ambush their prey by the flanks. Meanwhile the foreboding silhouette stationed at closer vantage point, only yards away from the hospital.

"Sado. I'm Lisa."
Lisa stiffened as she felt something. Though she was unsure what it was, she could tell one thing for certain: it was close.
She drew her sword and carefully looked around.
"And here I was hoping to get back to my book." She mumbled under her breath, and made her move - neither left nor right, but straight up.

From her vantage point, she saw on a building not far away a shrouded figure, which appeared to be watching them. She released her zanpakuto, dropped her bag on the nearest rooftop, and moved.
"And who and what the hell're you?" She asked, addressing the figure.

Chad regarded Lisa's departure with an impassive look before turning his attention to the oncoming fire... things. As far as he could tell, they were mostly bestial, displaying some animal cunning, but lacking the touches of a truly intelligent opponent... such as effectively hiding their reiatsu.

With a short "Hrm." under his breath, the big highschooler stepped back, wound up... and flickered from existence, Sonido carrying him directly under one of the prowling fire-things. A savage uppercut flashed out, one that would rip the wraith clean off the wall and land it sprawling on a rooftop twenty meters up if it connected. Chad was fighting cautiously, conserving his energies; whatever it was that he was half-sensing wasn't these two, so this was simply a punch. An immensely powerful punch, but just a punch nonetheless.

A bright ochre aura surged like a heat wave from the stalkers body, provoking a scorching outward burst of spiritual pressure. The illuminating incandescence, revealed the ferocious and unyielding countenance that had been lurking in the shadows. Harsh features were almost indiscernible beneath the layer of beard and wild mane, but his eyes glared straight through to the woman’s core.

“Lancea Aduro…”

The words were not by any chance his name; the instant he pronounced them the atmosphere grew heavy and disorienting as if the very oxygen was being sucked out of the air. Without a moments warning a spire surrounded by flames and ash burst towards the stubborn nuisance.

Below the dark demons were intent on following through with the hunt, much to their surprise the apparent two on one advantage didn't seem to faze their target. As they prepared to pounce, the would be victim vanished leaving behind not a trace except for deep echoing sound. The minions tensed trying to predict the location, yellow eyes darting to the re-appearance point… A heavy thud followed as one of them was impacted by a inhumanly powerful fist, dislodging it from the building and sending it flying; however the monster recovered in mid flight and clung to a roof ledge, somewhat dazedly shaking off the blow, simultaneously the other beast had charged at the large man from behind, anticipating it would be sensed the creature dove to the ground, bringing its hind talons at the opponents lower body in a sweeping motion.

Lisa felt the air thinning, and immediately moved, using shunpo to widen the gap between herself and this ugly SOB, at the same time leaving his line of fire.

The attack passed her by, but the heat was such that it burned her leg even though it had not hit. A second later, the mask appeared on her face, and the distinctive wide, red blast of superconcentrated spiritual energy of a cero shot towards the enemy.

Sado twisted sharply back and down, his leg shifting out of the most probable path of the oncoming talons as his right fist hammered down in a massive blow- El Directo- that should turn the oncoming wraith into a stain on the pavement, mashing it flat between a giant fist and the unyielding street.

This, of course, left him wide open to the attentions of the other beast, assuming it could shake off its daze soon enough, but the big Latino teen considered it more important to avoid being hamstrung at the moment. He had learned the hard way that mobility was key in these battles.

((Ooc- Blargh, brain not working. All I'm trying to say here is that this was a powerful, but very awkward, hit, since it's at a bad angle and he can't move fast enough to position himself properly. His guard against the one stuck to the wall is down -ooC))
